What Users Say

According to the analyzed reviews, Wanderlog is valued for consolidating trip details, offering map-based planning, and facilitating group coordination. Automatic import of booking emails and expense tracking were also appreciated. However, multiple sampled reviews complained about aggressive upsells, a lengthy onboarding process, and performance issues on Android, especially as itineraries grow. The annual-only subscription met with considerable criticism from occasional users who questioned its value. While the app's core concept resonates with frequent and complex trip planners, implementation flaws such as unreliable email parsing and limited transport options led some users to revert to spreadsheets or Google Maps.

What users like

  • Centralized trip organization
Sampled reviews appreciated having flights, hotels, activities, and notes in one place.
  • Email import for reservations
Forwarding confirmation emails to auto-populate bookings is praised as a time-saver.
  • Map integration and route optimization
Seeing all places on a map with distances and optimized routes is highly valued.
  • Expense tracking and budget management
Built-in expense tracking, currency conversion, and cost splitting help manage budgets.

Common concerns

  • Aggressive upsell and onboarding friction
Long onboarding with forced questions and constant pro prompts frustrate users.
  • Performance issues, especially lag on Android
Frequent freezing, slow responses, and crashes hamper usability on many devices.
  • Subscription model and value concerns
Annual-only high-cost subscription lacks monthly option, frustrating occasional travelers.
  • Unreliable email parsing
Email import often fails to parse confirmations correctly, requiring manual fixes.

Wanderlog has rolled out version 2.221 on Google Play. The release introduces an Import from anywhere feature, which lets travelers build an itinerary by pasting a link into the app. Instead of entering stops and reservations by hand, users can drop in a link and have the app generate the itinerary structure for them.

That addition fits the app's existing focus on pulling trip details together in one place. Wanderlog already supports forwarding reservation emails and connecting a Gmail account to scan for hotel, flight, and other booking confirmations. The new link-based import gives users another route into the same itinerary view, where dates, destinations, reservations, and activities sit alongside each other.

Planning tools in the app cover route optimization, which auto-arranges stops into a smoother order, and offline access, which lets users download a trip plan and open it without an internet connection. Reservations for hotels, flights, and other bookings are kept in a single list. Maps and recommendations round out the planning flow, so an imported itinerary lands in the same workspace as the rest of a trip.

The update listing also notes refreshed visuals and performance improvements. Those changes apply across the app rather than to a single screen, and they accompany the import feature in the same release.

For travelers who already keep reservations scattered across email and booking sites, the paste-a-link option shortens the setup step. Paste the link, review the generated itinerary, then adjust stops, add lodging, or reorder the route as needed. The rest of the trip — attachments, confirmation details, and daily activities — stays in the same place.

Version 2.221 is available now on Google Play.
